1. Assisting other Organizations

Cynthia Gonzalez presented to the Board that the Latino City Attorney Association is honoring three members of the City Attorney’s Office during Latino Heritage Month. The event will take place in the Bradley Tower. The LCAA is requesting a contribution of $500 towards this event.

Motion: By Hiscocks, to donate $500 to the Latino City Attorney Association for this event. Second: Winslow.

2. Bank Account Resolutions

LACAA has three different accounts in three different banking institutions. With this past election we have a new Treasurer. Each check must have two signatories. Resolution, to make the following

3. Introduction of the new Treasurer

Congratulations to Nicholas Lauber.

4. Retainer for Mastagni firm

With new and an increasing workload, the Mastagni firm has agreed to adjust their fee to $10,000 a month for 60 hours of work. Even when contract negotiations are over, the Mastagni firm will keep a larger case load with employee grievance representation.

5. Election

LACAA Elections are on track.

6. Negotiations

More details will be discussed at a Membership Meeting, which is being planned. It will be a meeting at which lunch will be served.

7. Health Care & the 4%

The Negotiating Committee is addressing the 4% Pension Contribution during contract discussions. The Committee will not agree to a contract that does not include COLAs. Specifics of the negotiations cannot be discussed at this time.


As you know, our new MOU includes annual reimbursement for MCLE-related expenses. To ensure that you receive complete and timely reimbursement, we encourage you to follow the instructions contained in the MCLE protocol provided by City Attorney Management. You must complete and submit a reimbursement form in order to receive reimbursement.

You can reimburse expenses related to attending MCLE programs that are accepted by the California State Bar, even if the program takes place in another state. Eligible expenses include the cost of the program, travel, and per diems.

Please be judicious when choosing lodging and which food/drink expenses you submit for reimbursement.

The Board is pleased to announce that LACAA has retained the law firm of MASTAGNI, HOLSTEDT, AMICK, MILLER & JOHNSEN as General Counsel.
